Two funky yellow SAMs developed for the Circular Retrofit Lab on the campus of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The CRL is one of the 6 international case studies of the HORIZON2020 project Buildings As Material Banks (BAMB). The idea behind this design is that the space can be divided into two small studios by a partition wall.

Flexwork SAM

On behalf of the VUB's research group 'TRANSFORM', these SAMs were designed with a view to maximum adaptability for the future. This flex workplace can be completely separated into two complete studios.

Fire resistance and the separation of the utilities were taken into account. As a result, this flexible workplace can be divided into two completely separate studios, each with its own bathroom and kitchenette.

The office setting lends itself perfectly to the industrial look with the ventilation ducts and cable ducts remaining visible. In the entrance hall, we chose to accentuate these techniques with indirect lighting. In this way we connect the rough concrete and the visible techniques with the bright yellow finish, to result in a smooth ensemble.
