For episode 26, we invite Patrick Nijssen. Patrick is Head of Growth Benelux at NORNORM. NORNORM is a Danish company founded in 2020 by former IKEA manager Anders Jespen & Skype co-founder Jonas Kjellberg. With 10 million tons of office furniture ending up in landfills every year in Europe alone, the founders want to apply the circular economy model to office furniture by letting companies subscribe to furniture instead of buying it. The company wants to create a fully recyclable solution for workplaces and drastically reduce the burden on the planet from office furniture.
We are transforming offices on a subscription basis, think of it as Netflix for furniture. Clients pay per square foot, not per item, which gives them the flexibility to change. And every piece of furniture finds its purpose: when a piece of furniture leaves a client's office, we already start thinking in what other project we can use it. This makes the lifespan of the furniture much longer.
